Regardless of what people are insinuating, the root of the problem is boundaries. He crossed several boundaries and then cried wolf because people complained. As the educator and adult in the situation, you have to be mindful of how you are perceived as professional. He recorded the minors, without parental consent, then proceeded to post it online without blurring their faces. Further, as an educator he should have known that the optics of minors doing this during school time would garner bad looks. Although you cant control how things are received/viewed, as the adult, he should have been more mindful of how this would be received collectively, and not just culturally. I don't agree that he should have been fired, but I did some some tweets/tiktoks stating he had the students numbers in his phone, which is crossing even more teacher/student boundaries. I personally don't understand why we are choosing to neglect all those obvious ethics violations, for the sake of him being a black teacher. If anything, he should have thought of that beforehand.
